Trainee Dental Nurse

Job purpose: Assisting a dentist chair side ranging from examinations, extractions, root canal treatments, crown and bridge preparation, denture stages, scale and polishes, emergency appointments

Decontamination how to process all instruments and hand pieces correctly

Infection control to keep a high standard throughout the practice to avoid any cross infection

Reception duties dealing with appointment booking, taking telephone calls, cancelling appointments as a dentist requires

General cleaning this entails hoovering and cleaning of all areas of the practice

What qualifications or qualities are required? We are looking for a confident, friendly and enthusiastic individual who is keen to learn and develop a career in dental nursing. No previous dental experience is required, as full training and support will be provided. The successful applicant should be hardworking, punctual, reliable and professional, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Good communication skills are important, as you will be working closely with patients, dentists and the wider dental team. You should be comfortable working as part of a team, able to follow instructions and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and infection control. A caring and approachable manner is essential, together with the ability to treat patients with respect, dignity and confidentiality.
