Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Environmental Health Officer who are currently in their Third Year Placement of the BSc Environmental Health with Professional Practice at the University of the West of Scotland.
Based within both the Business Regulation and Public Health teams, you work independently to contribute to the delivery of the Environmental Health service within Glasgow as well as receiving training and guidance to fulfil the 48 weeks of professional practice required ahead of sitting the professional examination for the REHIS Diploma in Environmental Health.
Confirmation of current enrolment within Third Year of the University of the West of Scotland BSc Environmental Health, flexible approach to working, IT skills and a working knowledge of the role of an Environmental Health Officer within a local authority setting are essential.
The Council is currently piloting hybrid home/office working, offers excellent work/life balance, flexi time and flexible working hours options, and membership of the Local Government pension scheme.
This post is temporary for a period up to 48 weeks.
