Due to continued growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Multi-Skilled Security & Telecoms Engineer to join our Engineering Team based from our Glasgow office.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the technology industry. Full training will be provided by experienced engineers, giving you exposure to a wide range of technologies and real-world projects.
A company vehicle, laptop and mobile phone will be provided.
A full UK driving licence is essential (up to 3 penalty points considered).
The Role
Working alongside our experienced engineers, you will assist with the installation, maintenance, commissioning and support of a wide range of technology systems including:
- Structured Cabling (Cat5e, Cat6 & Fibre)
- Business Telephone Systems & Unified Communications
- CCTV Systems
- Door Access Control Systems
- Intruder Alarm Systems
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Audio Visual Systems
- Business Networking Infrastructure
As your experience grows, you will become involved in customer surveys, system commissioning, troubleshooting and delivering complete technology installations.
Typical Duties
- Assisting engineers with on-site installations
- Installing and terminating structured cabling
- Installing CCTV cameras and associated equipment
- Assisting with access control, intercom and alarm installations
- Learning to configure IP networks and connected devices
- Supporting telephone system installations and migrations
- Assisting with AV installations including displays and audio systems
- Carrying out planned maintenance and fault finding
- Attending customer sites throughout Scotland and occasionally further afield
- Keeping accurate job documentation
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service
- Working safely and following company procedures
About You
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology who wants to build a career within the Security and Telecommunications industry.
Ideally you will have some previous experience in one or more of the following:
- Structured cabling
- Electrical installation
- Security systems
- Networking
- Telecommunications
- IT support
This experience does not need to be extensive—we are more interested in finding someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
