Unpaid Work Officer
Criminal Justice (Childrens Services)
This is an exciting opportunity to join our professionally challenging and rewarding justice service. You will carry out a range of duties in relation to the supervision of unpaid work orders.
The main duties of the post will include responsibility for the full range of unpaid work tasks in relation to the assessment, placement, provision of other activity and supervision of criminal justice service users across Renfrewshire who are sentenced to Unpaid Work requirements of Community Payback Orders, or diverted from prosecution within Fiscal Work Orders.
It is essential that you have experience of working in a social work setting; have effective assessment, communication, report writing and IT skills with the ability to communicate clearly, work as part of a team and organise and prioritise your workload to meet court timescales. You must also have a flexible approach and be able to travel within the Renfrewshire Council area as required. The ability to work weekends is essential.
Previous experience of the justice social work role, writing reports to court and working with justice service users is desirable, as is a good understanding of the range of needs they present. Experience of information systems and a full current driving licence is also desirable.
Full training and support will be given to ensure that you are able to maintain the service’s commitment to continuous improvement.
