- Career progression opportunities within our Transport structure Your Role You'll be responsible for maintaining the Council's wide-ranging fleet, which includes:
- Small plant equipment
- Trailers
- HGVs and buses
- Minibuses, vans, and cars
- Specialist vehicles used in front-line operations Tasks will include scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, test preparation, and repairs in line with Transport and Health & Safety legislation. There is also potential to train as a Class IV, V, and VII MOT tester.
- Flexibility to support overtime and participate in a standby rota as needed
- Full driving licence is essential

Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking a skilled Vehicle & Plant Mechanic to support its vehicle maintenance operations at our Garroch workshop in Dumfries. You'll be part of a professional, well-organised team working in a modern, fully equipped facility.
