An opportunity has arisen for a Theatre Waiting List Coordinator to work within the Medical Records Team at Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban. We are looking for a self-motivated person with excellent communication skills and proven experience of working within a busy and challenging environment and as part of a team.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all theatre and endoscopy lists are utilised to capacity and that 18 week referral to treatment, TTG and waiting time standards are met in line with national targets. This post provides a crucial focal point for all communication to and from the Consultant and their teams, the Theatre Manager and involves interaction with patients, relatives and carers, GPs, and other allied health care professionals.

As well as a high level of organisational and leadership skills, you should have a confident and assertive manner with clear prioritisation of a frequently changing workload.

Previous experience of working within an NHS environment would be an advantage but not essential.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
