• Carry out inspections of public and commercial waste collection points

• Support follow up activity, including reporting findings and issuing written communications where required

• Respond to customer enquiries via telephone and email

• Maintain accurate records and update Excel-based tracking systems

• Assist with engagement activity to encourage correct waste disposal practices

• Work across multiple sites throughout the Highlands to support operational service delivery

Requirements:

Essential

• Previous experience in a customer-facing role such as customer service, field support, compliance, or operational engagement

• Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with people face-to-face

• Strong administration skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

• Ability to organise workloads effectively and meet deadlines

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach

• Comfortable working both outdoors and in an office environment

• Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the Highland region

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Desirable

• Previous experience within waste management, recycling, environmental services or a similar operational setting

• Experience dealing with challenging situations or conflict resolution

• An interest in sustainability or waste reduction practices

What’s on Offer:

Salary: £17.91 per hour

Benefits: Vehicle provided for business travel, full PPE supplied, overnight accommodation where required, holiday entitlement and pension scheme

Working pattern: 35 hours per week, with approximately 50% office-based and 50% field-based work (flexibility required depending on operational demands)

Career development: Excellent opportunity to gain valuable operational experience within a growing sector

About You:

• A confident and approachable communicator

• Motivated and capable of working on your own initiative

• Comfortable working in a practical, hands-on environment

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail

• Adaptable and professional when dealing with a range of people and situations
