Full Job Description
We currently have opportunities for a Waterfront Multi Skilled Operative - Lift Supervisor to provide multi skilled support for the Waterfront Department as and when directed. Also provide Infrastructure Operations Lifting Supervisor Support for lifting operations activities in infrastructure Operations Facilities. When providing general MSO support and when acting as Lift Supervisor for lifting operations, they will ensure they carry out their duties in accordance with all current H&S legislation. For their lifting supervisor role, they must adhere to Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulation (LOLER) 1998 and BS:7121 (all volumes). Day-to-day, you'll be required to:
- Provide support to the Waterfront Department, undertaking maintenance and operational activities ensuring the completion of all tasks including lifting operations. Ensure the department meets the objectives of the Business, in relation to all reactive and planned maintenance activities and any heavy lift KPI's.
- Provide supervision for safe lifting, ensuring that safe practices and protocols are adhered too throughout each lifting evolution. Following Lift Plans as directed by the Appointed Person's Safe System of Work.
- Ensure that all work is carried out is in line with current processes and make suggestions on improvements to increase productivity, in accordance with department objectives and timescales.
- When undertaking the role of lift supervisor, provide supervision for safe lifting by following approved lift plans as directed by the Appointed Person and take a lead in relation to mentoring lifting work party members as directed again by the Appointed Person.
- Promote safe, compliant, and efficient conduct of all aspects of their role as an MSO, but particularly when fulfilling the role of lifting Supervisor. Report all non-conformances, incidents, and improvements to line management and for lifting operations to the Appointed Persons in the first instance.
Knowledge and understanding of LOLER, BS7121 & other industry applicable regulations and practices. - Knowledge and understanding relating to the safe operation of base Mobile Cranes
- Knowledge and understanding relating to the safe operation of Service Logistic Derricks (SLD's) located on the Valiant Jetty
- Knowledge and understanding relating to the safe operation of EOT cranes located within the Shiplift Facility
- Ability to operate Diesel Counterbalance Forklifts
- Knowledge and understanding of Waterfront operational activities (vessel berthing & slipping arrangements) and berth preps Qualifications for the Waterfront Multi Skilled Operative - Lift Supervisor:
- Hold Driving Licence Category B
- Slinging Signaller N402S
- SVQ Level 3 Controlling Lifting Operations: Supervising Lifts
- NPORS N405 Crane/Lift Supervisor
- Rigging/Fleeting Slinging N047 Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
