Full Job Description

Wellhead Valve Technician: Carrying out assembly, disassembly, maintenance, overhaul and recertification of equipment

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a hands-on mechanical background, who would like to further their career within a high performing valves services team that prides themselves on delivering quality products and services in line with the company, client, and quality expectations.
Primary responsibilities

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions

  • Carry our various testing scopes including FAT, SIT and specialised testing scopes

  • Inspection, overhaul, maintenance and recertification of Subsea valves and actuators

  • Inspection, overhaul, maintenance and recertification of Xmas tree and Wellhead

  • Troubleshooting and problem solving of all valves, wellhead and actuator issues

  • Provide core competence in use of valve flushing

  • Provide core competence in use of all torque and tensioning equipment

  • Execution of risk assessments and hazard assessments (Start Cards) on all related work scopes

  • Provide technical support to all valve workshop teams

  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team

  • Willingness to support offsite/offshore activities as and when required in accordance with the client and/or the company's requirements (preferred)

  • Ensure all workshop equipment and tooling are maintained regularly and all records kept up to date

  • Responsible for the general housekeeping within and surrounding the department

    NVQ Level 3 in relevant technical discipline

  • Completed an engineering apprenticeship (preferred)


  • Experience
  • Be fully competent working alone on all valve and actuator types

  • Demonstrable workshop/technician experience within a valve/wellhead workshop environment is preferred

  • Experience of working autonomously and experience of leading a team is desirable
