Job purpose: A Body Repair Apprentice works alongside experienced vehicle body repair technicians to learn how to repair damaged cars and light commercial vehicles. The role combines hands-on workshop training with classroom or college-based learning, usually leading to a recognised qualification in vehicle body repair

What will I learn?

Assist technicians with vehicle body repairs and panel replacement

Prepare damaged vehicles for repair work

Learn how to remove, repair, and fit body panels and components

Sand, fill, and prepare surfaces for painting

Use workshop tools and equipment safely and correctly

Carry out basic repair tasks under supervision

Help maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop

Follow health and safety procedures and company standards

Support vehicle inspections and damage assessments

Complete apprenticeship training, coursework, and practical assessments

Work as part of a team to meet repair deadlines and quality standards

Learn customer service and professional workplace practices

What qualifications or qualities are required?

A genuine interest in vehicle repair and the automotive industry

Willingness to learn and develop new skills

Good attention to detail

Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude

Ability to work well within a team

Nat 5 in Maths and English are desirable but not essential
