Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 10 and above (currently £30,030 per annum / £16.50 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

Job purpose/about the role

To oversee and work as part of a team in the planning and delivery of a Primary School Breakfast Club provision to meet the individual needs of children and their families, ensuring their wellbeing and improving outcomes for all children.

The purpose of the role is to oversee the provision of a healthy breakfast to primary school pupils.

10 hours per week. Hours 7.30am - 9.30am, Monday - Friday Fixed Term Post until March 2027

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

An Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to undertake and pass this course within 6 months.
FSA – Food Standards Agency's food allergy online training and pass this course within 1 month

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

Strong communication skills
Awareness of risks within a school environment
Sound written and numeracy skills
High standard of hygiene awareness
