About the role

Due to an internal promotion we have an exciting opportunity within our Finance Department. We are looking to recruit to the role of Finance Officer on a temporary basis until 30 April 2028.

Working in a busy team the postholder will:

help in the monthly budget monitoring process by compiling information and holding meetings with your own budget holders
help compile the SSSC annual budgets
help in the production of the SSSC statutory annual accounts
carry out monthly balance sheet reconciliations
compile information for financial or statistical returns
help train and develop finance and non-finance staff.

What you need to succeed

We are looking for someone who:

holds a relevant HNC or equivalent Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) qualification or degree or have significant experience
can demonstrate an appreciation of the importance of accuracy and attention to detail
has organisational skills that help you to prioritise and manage your own workload
can be a strong communicator and be able to demonstrate your commitment to excellent customer service
can work on their own initiative and with minimal supervision
is able to work flexibly as part of a team.

The starting salary for this post will be at the minimum point of the advertised pay scale.
