In this role you will develop a solid understanding of the division, helping to develop appropriate and value add reporting to senior stakeholders, whilst ensuring monthly management accounts are produced accurately within timeframes, specifically for the International region. Responsibilities:

Oversee the production of accurate management accounts and relevant commentary, within reporting deadlines for the International region of the division

Manage a team of 2 part qualified accountants and drive forward change to ensure that the department and team members improve, supporting part qualified students in their studies and development.

Act as the key liaison between the Management Accounts team and our third party book-keepers across the various regions

Liaising with off-shore processing team to control posting of month end journal transactions and balance sheet reconciliations.

Review reconciliations to verify the accuracy of management accounts and perform monthly, quarterly and year-to-date variance analysis to budget and prior year on P&L

Ensure SOX requirements are fully met.

Production and review of ad hoc reporting on International costs and establish key reporting outputs for senior stakeholders

Liaising with Finance Business Partners and other departments out with Management Accounts team to provide support for queries

Provide support in response to external and internal audit requests

Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/CA/CPA or equivalent)

Experience gained within a SOX and regulatory/control based environment desirable

US GAAP experience highly desirable

Experience managing a team

Ability to priority manage and adhere to challenging deadlines

Flexible attitude to dealing with multiple tasks and environments

Microsoft Excel
