There can be very few roles that offer the same high level of job satisfaction that can be enjoyed in a position with the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS).

At RZSS you become a valued member of a dedicated team of people in Scotland and also part of a much wider mission to assist in the conservation of animals all over the world.

That’s because RZSS not only manages Edinburgh Zoo and The Highland Wildlife Park in Kingussie, it also supports education, research and conservation projects in the UK and 20 countries around the world. And the good news is you too can become part of this mission, looking after some of the world’s most endangered species whilst inspiring the next generation to learn about and cherish wildlife.

RZSS has a range of positions available throughout the year covering all of its departments and services. In fact, the range of roles is as varied as the wonderful array of creatures RZSS helps keep safe.

From the animal keepers to the volunteers, the scope widens to include vital roles in business operations and visitor services, gardens, IT, property and estates, general office and administration staff, conservation, communications and membership, finance, education, events and even more.

Whatever role you choose, you’ll be making a valuable contribution to the zoo and wildlife park animals, environment and support services.

You’ll also be working alongside interesting, professional and fun people from diverse backgrounds and across a broad range of industries.

These roles in the beautiful environments of Edinburgh Zoo and the Highland Wildlife Park are open to anyone.

Naturally, a love of animals is a prerequisite but you must also be highly competent, have the right skills, knowledge, qualifications and experience – and be able to fit into a highly professional, dedicated and friendly staff community.

In fact, being the right ‘fit’ of person – who can come in and do a great job alongside the rest of the team – is a number one priority. Thankfully, apply for one of the fantastic RZSS roles and you can be assured of the best opportunity to sell yourself as being that right person.

And, if you’re wondering what your workplace will be like, remember you’ll be sharing it with more than 1000 rare and endangered animals.

This means there’s no other place in Scotland where you can hear the roar of a lion from your desk, watch the antics of a majestic polar bear during your lunch break, and all the while be surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

Do you want to go home after a day’s work with the satisfaction of having done your best for Scotland’s top tourist attractions, while protecting endangered species all over the world?
