We have an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to join our Medicines Utilisation and biologics team to provide both clinical and speciality support to patients prescribed biologics. The post holder will develop/have a generalist level knowledge of specialities including rheumatology, gastroenterology, dermatology and neurology and will be encourage to develop a more specialist knowledge with one or more specialities. The post holder will be supported by a senior medicines utilisation pharmacist and will provide clinical support to the small pharmacy homecare team. The post holder should have prescribing or will be supported to undertake their prescribing and will be encouraged to further develop pharmacist clinics in biologics., Please ensure the vacancy salary meets the minimum salary required for sponsorship. We are unable to provide sponsorship for bank contracts.

The post holder will be based in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary working between the hospital pharmacy and the specialities. Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary is based in Dumfries in beautiful south west Scotland with easy access to the Scottish central belt, Northern Ireland and Northern England. The health board is one of the Scottish remote and rural boards and will suit someone who enjoys the coast and countryside.
The hospital was opened in 2017 and pharmacy benefits from electronic prescribing and robotics and has a forward thinking team who will be ready to support you in a new role., Public protection practice encompasses the recognition and management of risk in order to prevent or reduce harm to children, (including unborn babies), young people and adults. All public protection legislation, and NHS Dumfries and Galloway (NHSDG) policies and guidance are founded on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the European Convention on Human Rights, and the principles of these Conventions underpin all NHSDG core business.
