Full Job Description

Are you passionate about working with people living with Dementia, are you motivated to drive change and promote the role of OT within Dementia care. If this is, you then an exciting opportunity has arisen for an HCPC registered occupational therapist to join our Mental Health Occupational Therapy team.

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative individual who has highly developed specialist knowledge and skills of working with individuals living with dementia and their carers/care providers. 

You will have sufficient skills and knowledge to act as a specialist resource for practitioners across the spectrum of care 
Recent clinical experience of working to improve services for people living with dementia, would be an advantage but not essential.
  You will have excellent communication skills to lead, promote and develop best practice 
You will provide specialist Occupational therapy input into the established IDEAS(Interventions for Dementia, Education and Assessment and Support Team)

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
