Full Job Description
Location: Edinburgh (fully on site)
Eden Scott are happy to be supporting our client in their search for an Accountant to join their team. You will play a crucial role in supporting our financial management and accounting processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the field of finance and accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other compliance-related activities.
- Provide support in maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience working in an accounting or finance role.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Free agent, or Money Soft
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience with mentoring or training junior staff is a plus.
