Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced accounts and payroll executive to join our small team dealing with accounts and payroll duties. This is ideally a full-time role but we would consider part time applications also.

Working for one of Edinburgh's leading hospitality operators, it is essential you are experienced in payroll and accounts processing. The role will involve dealing with payroll, invoicing, reconciliations and reporting using Xero and Brightpay payroll.

Supervising a small team you will be responsible for preparing payroll runs and assisting with sales and invoice processing, accounts reconciliations, filings and general office duties. Ideally you will have some Xero experience but other accountancy packages will be considered as full training can be provided. Knowledge of payroll is essential and we currently use BRIGHTPAY payroll.

The role is not remote so attendance at the office is essential and we are currently based within Charwood in the south of Edinburgh, past Morningside on many good bus routes. There is also free parking on site.

Duties involved in this role will include:

  • Payroll processing for a range of payrolls using BRIGHTPAY in a timely manner

  • Collating timesheets for payroll data including time and attendance

  • Dealing with payroll legislation - RTI, auto enrolment, PAYE, SSP, holiday pay and pensions

  • Raising invoices as required in Xero

  • Scanning in supplier invoices and processing and reconciling in XERO

  • Reconciling Xero transactions and ensuring accuracy of reports and data

  • Dealing with management in different units

  • Dealing with internal queries and questions from managers on invoice/payroll related matters

    Experience of accounts processing using XERO (other accounting systems considered and full training can be given)

  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing

  • MS Office namely Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Able to work in a team environment and build strong internal relationships.

  • Excellent Written and spoken English and strong communication skills

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and complete your workload accurately and on time

  • Complete confidentiality is required for this role as it will involve dealing with sensitive personal information

  • Part or qualified accountant or relevant experience is necessary for this role

  • Background in hospitality is not required but would be a bonus as you will understand what we are all about !
