Full Job Description

Job Title:                         Advanced Clinical Fellow in Psychiatry and Medical Education

Departments:                 General Adult Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry

Base:                                 NHS Lothian (Various sites available).  

Term:                                Fixed term for 12 months

Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, full time (40 hours per week) post based in East Lothian Community Hospital.

Various posts are available for full-time Senior Clinical Fellows, fixed term from until August 2025.  The successful applicants will be based at one of NHS Lothians sites.

These posts are new split posts with 50% clinical time spent in one of NHS Lothians psychiatry teams, and 50% time working with NHS Lothians Medical Education Directorate.

The post-holder will work under supervision with local clinical teams to develop skills in the clinical areas of their choice. Following interview the successful applicant will be asked to rank posts according to their preference.

There are no on call requirements for this post.

The education role is based in a supportive team as part of the Medical Education Directorate. The post-holder will have opportunities to focus on their own personal development including simulation and skills training, leadership training, undergraduate education, and quality improvement throughout the year.

Applicants should be able to evidence competencies of a CT3 doctor. Candidates must have full GMC Registration and a license to practice.
