Full Job Description
1. Child Care and Development:
- Provide high-quality care and supervision for children aged 0-5 years.
- Foster children's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and learning experiences.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for children at all times.
- Collaborate with other nursery staff to create and implement educational programs.
- Develop lesson plans that support children's learning through play, exploration, and structured activities.
- Tailor activities to meet the individual needs and interests of each child.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians.
- Provide regular updates on children's progress and daily activities.
- Address any concerns or questions from parents in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Ensure that all safety and hygiene standards are met, including food preparation and sanitation.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and promptly report any accidents or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- Promote good hygiene practices among children.
- Maintain accurate records of children's development, activities, and any incidents.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation for each child, including assessments and progress reports.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and cohesive work environment.
- Share ideas, resources, and best practices to improve the nursery's programs and operations.
- Stay current on early childhood education best practices, regulations, and trends through training and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain the necessary qualifications and certifications as required by local regulations.
Minimum of a SCQF Level 7 in Social Services (CYP) qualification. - First Aid certification.
- SSSC registration.
- Experience working with young children in a nursery, preschool, or daycare setting is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Good knowledge of Curriculum For Excellence and Realising The Ambition and all other relevant Early Years Framework and legislations.

Working Conditions: Full-time work, with rotas that may include early mornings and evenings. The work environment includes a combination of indoor and outdoor activities.
