Full Job Description

We're recruiting for an Application Operations Engineer here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) team.

This role aligns against Application Operations Engineer from the Government Digital and Data Framework

We really want to hear from people who want to make a difference by building great services that meet user needs, making improvements that deliver value to CICA and overhauling the legacy technology that underpins many of our existing services.

Joining a dynamic and innovative team, you'll collaborate closely with our Senior Operations Engineer to develop and maintain CICA's business process management software. Your responsibilities will encompass bug fixing, testing, implementation, documentation, and enhancing functionality to ensure optimal performance. While CICA currently operates on a SQL Server estate, we're also exploring opportunities to leverage open-source alternatives in the future.

This junior technical role offers an opportunity to provide guidance and support within the team, assisting in setting and maintaining standards. We're looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn, who can collaborate effectively with colleagues and customers to ensure we meet user needs. You'll also have the chance to build relationships with suppliers and contribute to the team's growth and development.

Please note that regular attendance at our Glasgow office is expected, as certain components of our physical infrastructure are located on site, and the wider application team is also based there. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will be able to fulfil this requirement.
