Full Job Description

Helping deliver SSEN Transmission's ambitious RIIO-T2 Business Plan, preparing for the next price control (2026-2031) and supporting the implementation of the Accelerating Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) framework which will deliver c£10bn of new investment into the North of Scotland Transmission network.

- Influencing future policy direction as we navigate through the fast-changing energy policy environment.

- Working with internal experts to prepare evidence-based regulatory submissions and representing SSENT externally in maintaining a positive relationship with Ofgem.

- Provide qualitative and quantitative evidence to inform our regulatory policy positions across a wide range of areas, identify and resolve regulatory issues and lead on regulatory submissions., At SSEN Transmission, we take immense pride in owning and operating the high-voltage electricity transmission network across the north of Scotland. We would expect demonstrable experience of working in a regulated company, regulator or in consulting, in order to succeed in this role. This includes demonstrable understanding of the energy industry and/or regulation gained from experience.

- Ability to project manage workstreams within regulatory or large capital project programmes, including formal regulatory submissions to Ofgem.

- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to present (written and verbal) to internal and external audiences(including the regulator) on complex issues, for example in responding to consultations and industry working groups. We would expect strong written skills and an ability to develop coherent and convincing narratives in support of formal regulatory submissions or business planning documents.

- Quantitative and qualitative analytical capability, crucially with ability to use this information to inform regulatory policy decisions and support delivery of projects. In addition, an interest in operating out with field of expertise, confidently engaging with technical, financial and engineering specialists to gather relevant information.

- Rigorous and thorough approach in carrying out research and analysis, seeking multiple data sources and opinions, and from this establishing well-reasoned conclusions, proposals and recommendations.
