Full Job Description

We are privileged to be responsible for sustaining and growing SSE Renewables business and we are recruiting a key position in the Hydro Assets - Programmes team to drive forward this objective through the diligent development and delivery of hydro power station refurbishment projects at key operational assets. This is an exceptional and unique opportunity to contribute to the future success of the Hydro business in a rewarding environment.

Some of your main accountabilities will include;

- Contract managing hydro projects, where you'll be expected to plan, organise and execute delivery of design, services and works contracts, ensuring completion to quality, budget and schedule.

- Reviewing and refining initial concepts, working towards a design that generates value through safety, maximizes operational efficiency and plant availability through experience and innovation.

- Working with a team of discipline engineers to develop an integrated solution for Large Capital Projects whilst interfacing, identifying and managing associated risks.

- Assisting with the development and delivery of future budgets, financial management and control, and providing clear and accurate reporting.

- Providing input to the development and delivery of contract related documentation, including works scope, functional specifications, and design documents.

To be considered for this role, you should be qualified to degree level in an Electrical discipline, or alternatively to HNC level with demonstrable experience in large industrial projects environments.

In addition, we would love you to have;

- Experienced in the Hydro or broadly the power industry operational environment is an advantage.

- Working knowledge of SCADA systems, HMIs, PLCs, remote telemetry unit and related communications devices.

- Experience on electrical rotating equipment, excitation systems, and switchgear with electrical protection experience would also be advantageous.

- Knowledge of cyber security issues and functional safety.
