This will be accomplished by planning site specific designs, ensuring these designs are delivered by any 3rd party contractors but also by taking proof of concept projects from inception to production delivery on the live network. You'll ensure cyber security is considered and implemented at all stages of design, delivery and operation of the data network.

Key responsibilities for this role will include:

- Generate detailed understanding of the Network topology (physical and logical) of the Network, both LAN and WAN as well as perform technical deep dive network discovery where fuller understanding is required.

- Assist in developing a Network strategy as a component of the wider Operational Technology strategy and engage with our primary suppliers to enable the realisation of the Network strategy.

- Perform assessment of Network risk, creating appropriate mitigations within the Network strategy to minimise current and future risk.

- Identify and evaluate new technology which may be beneficial to the Network and projects - leading the evaluation of new and prospective network technologies, processes, and governance in support of the CROT Programme.

Demonstrable design and implementation knowledge of Network technologies (e.g. LAN, WAN, QoS and Firewall technical understanding).

- Knowledge of security techniques related to Networks and the associated mitigation, ideally with some understanding of how these relate to industrial control systems.

- Beneficial, but not essential, to understand SCADA networks, industrial control systems and the associated security standards.

- Oral and written communication skills to a level suitable to liaise with senior stakeholders at a detailed technical level. The ability to conceptualise complex business and technical requirements into comprehensible models and templates.

- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to convert ideas into effect plans/designs/reports.
