Full Job Description

Are you a qualified and experienced Arborist looking to join a new and exciting service area responsible for Renfrewshire Proactive Tree Management?

Based at Robertson Park or any of our satellite depots, you will work as part of a specialist arborist team responsible for conducting tree work operations to the council's tree stock.

You will be required to wear relevant PPE, conduct risk assessments and conform to industry best practice and Health and Safety regulations.

You will take appropriate measures to mitigate risk and ensure safe working areas.

LANTRA and NPTC certificates across a wide range of arboricultural operations, Evidence of continuing professional development and understanding of current issues in arboriculture, Experience of working with the public and operating a range of specialist machinery, technology and equipment is essential.

Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, knowledge of arboricultural legislation and industry best practice, basic IT skills, effective interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and organisational skills are also essential.

You must hold a current full driving licence and be prepared to work at heights and in inclement weather conditions throughout Renfrewshire.

You will be required to rotate across Neighbourhood Services and depots as required in line with the needs of the service area.

The post is a full-time position working 37hrs on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

The post holder may be required to enlist in an emergency standby rota when required, to ensure the council is able to respond on a 24 hour a day, 365 day a year basis deal with emergencies and severe weather occurrences.

Short listed candidates may be required to demonstrate their arboricultural competency in the form of a practical interview.
