Full Job Description

The Clyde Valley Residual Waste Project aims to deliver a solution for the treatment and disposal of residual waste across five partner Councils of East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire, North Ayrshire and North Lanarkshire. The project is looking for an Assistant Contract Manager to support the Contract Manager in delivery of the administration and performance of this innovative Project.,

  • For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.

    Further to supporting the Contract Manager in facilitating good communications between the partners you will lead on such issues as procurement and enforcement of the Payment Mechanism within the Contract. Therefore you must have experience of both waste management and internal financial tools.

    You must be educated to degree level or equivalent in Waste Management or a related discipline, along with considerable experience in all aspects of Waste Management, Contract Management and Project Management.

    With your natural enthusiasm and passion for Waste Management you will also have a sound knowledge of current and forthcoming initiatives, developments and legislation along with a sound knowledge of health and safety issues. You will also have previous experience in procurement, budget monitoring, monitoring KPI's, negotiations with contractors, experience of implementing strategic plans and policies and analysing and diagnosing business problems and suggesting solutions.

    To undertake this role, you must be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication abilities, possess a good working knowledge of IT systems, be committed to continuous service improvement and have a creative and constructive approach to problem solving.
