Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced healthcare support worker to join our Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team as part of the Integrated Community & Support Services (ICASS).

This service provides Pulmonary Rehabilitation classes over 3 locality sites, St Andrews, Cupar and Glenrothes. The service is led by a Band 7 Team Lead Fife wide and there is a Band 6 Pulmonary Rehabilitation Physiotherapist based in St Andrews whom this postholder would work alongside and be responsible to.

The primary function of this role will be to work with the Physiotherapist to assess and deliver pulmonary rehabilitation classes and be able to independently run classes and review patients. The post holder will also be expected to hold their own caseload, assess, progress and discharge autonomously within parameters.

The skills you require are experience of running groups and carrying out treatment programmes. Excellent organisational, communication, and observational skills are vital in being able to engage patients in activity understanding the limits of their conditions.

You will have an HNC in Health and Social Care or equivalent or SCQF level 8 e.g. Postural Stability/Exercise Instructor or equivalent. Experience working as a therapy support worker would be desirable and essential to be able run groups/classes. It would be desirable to have experience of working with this patient group.

There may be occasions where you will be required to cover classes throughout Fife and the ability to travel throughout the area is essential due to the nature of the delivery of this service.

Public Holiday working is in operation.

Our service offers regular supervision, PDP and supports training opportunities.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
