Full Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Actuarial Mathematics & Statistics, the post-holder will be required to:
- Develop and deliver high quality teaching in the mathematical sciences;
- Develop and roll out efficient assessment;
- To contribute fully to global teaching teams;
- Develop technology-enhanced learning principles and practices, and incorporate these into practical teaching;
- Engage in scholarship;
- Carry out such administrative and promotional activities as may be required to achieve the above aims;
- To take on pastoral roles towards students, including as a personal tutor.
To be considered for the role the candidate must have a PhD in the mathematical sciences or mathematics education. They must also have relevant experience or potential in teaching mathematics and the development of pedagogy-inspired teaching methods. The Department has a strong collaborative ethos, and the successful candidate will have the drive and commitment to contribute to and develop our global teaching programme., A PhD in mathematical sciences or mathematics education. - Experience in teaching mathematics and developing pedagogy-inspired teaching methods.
- Potential to provide leadership in the planning, organisation and development of learning and teaching activities in Statistics and Probability.
- The skills to supervise undergraduate and MSc projects.
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- The enthusiasm and ambition to contribute to a world-class academic community., Track-record of good quality publications.
- Experience in a pastoral role towards undergraduates.
- Experience in technology-enhanced learning methods.
