NEW Assistant Opportunity in Edinburgh

Bield have a fantastic opportunity for a part-time Assistant to join our team in Edinburgh. Donaldson Court provides a Retirement Housing with Meals Service to tenants, aged 60 and over, who wish to retain their independence but also want to benefit from leaving the worries of making their own meals each day to someone else. 

Donaldson Court is a Retirement Housing with meals development located off Burlington Street in Edinburgh. Great location to access local shops, cafes including great transport links. 

  

The successful candidate will undertake a range of cleaning duties to ensure that internal communal areas are clean, hygienic and meet the standards expected by our tenants and visitors to the development. You will also assist by preparing the dining room for mealtimes, heating prepared meals and delivering these dishes to tenants. 


 

On occasion, the Assistant will be expected to clean vacant flats and/ or external pathways of the development and provide general and emergency assistance to tenants, as required. In addition you will respond to property emergencies, taking appropriate action when the Manager is off duty and providing cover for the development office as required. 

 

Hours of employment are 16 hours per week, organised as follows: 

  

Tuesday10:00am -19:00

Saturday 10:00am -19:00

Role Requirements 

Bield is one of the largest providers of housing and support services to older people in Scotland and everyone plays an important role in making sure that our services improve the lives of older people in Scotland. An interest in working with older people and an understanding of their needs is essential. Although relevant experience in a similar post is also desirable, it is not essential as induction and training will be provided.
