Full Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor to lead our breakfast and after-school club programs. The Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of both clubs, providing a safe and engaging environment for children, and managing a team of staff members effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Management:
· Oversee the planning and implementation of daily activities, ensuring they are age-appropriate, fun, and align with the club's objectives.
· Develop and maintain a schedule of activities, ensuring a balance of educational, recreational, and creative pursuits.
· Monitor attendance and ensure proper sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed for all children and our personnel.
· Handle any incidents or emergencies that may arise, following established protocols and ensuring the safety and well-being of all children.
Staff Supervision:
· Train, and supervise a team of club staff members, including activity leaders, assistants, and support staff.
· Provide ongoing support, guidance, and feedback to staff to ensure they deliver high-quality care and programming.
Parent and Community Engagement:
· Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding club activities, policies, and any relevant updates.
· Foster positive relationships with parents/guardians, addressing any concerns or inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
· Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other community stakeholders to enhance the club's offerings and support the needs of participating children.
Administrative Duties:
· Maintain accurate records of attendance, program participation, and any incidents or accidents that occur during club hours.
· Manage the club's budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately and expenses are kept within budgetary constraints.
· Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling, inventory management, and reporting as required., We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Breakfast and Afterschool Club Practitioner based at our new setting in Roslin.. As part of our childcare provision, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of children attending our breakfast and afterschool clubs. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives by providing engaging activities and a nurturing environment outside of regular school hours.
Responsibilities:
Supervision and Care:
· Oversee the wellbeing of the children during breakfast and afterschool club sessions, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
· Provide personal care assistance, including helping children with hygiene routines and administering first aid when necessary.
· Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where children feel valued, respected, and encouraged to participate in activities.
Activity Planning and Implementation:
· Plan and organise age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts to engage children and promote their development.
· Create a stimulating and varied schedule of activities that cater to different interests and abilities.
· Encourage active participation and facilitate opportunities for social interaction and teamwork among children.
Nutrition and Mealtime Support:
· Assist with meal preparation and serving during breakfast and afterschool club sessions, ensuring that dietary requirements and preferences are accommodated.
· Promote healthy eating habits by encouraging children to make nutritious food choices and providing education on the importance of balanced nutrition.
Communication and Collaboration:
· Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians, providing updates on their child's progress, activities, and any relevant concerns.
· Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals, such as teachers and support staff, to ensure continuity of care and support for children with additional needs.
Health and Safety Compliance:
· Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines, to create a safe and hygienic environment for children and staff.
· Conduct regular risk assessments of the club premises and equipment, taking appropriate action to mitigate any hazards or potential risks.
· Suitable and compatible high level qualification such as Level 5 in Childcare
· Minimum of 3 years previous experience working in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a childcare or youth development setting.
· Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with children, parents, staff, and community members.
· Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in out-of-school time programming.
· Ability to pass background checks and meet other regulatory requirements for working with children.
· Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules, including occasional evening or weekend hours as needed for training.
· This is a spilt shift between breakfast and afterschool club, · A minimum of 1 year previous experience working in a childcare or educational setting, preferably in a breakfast or afterschool club environment.
· Minimum qualification of a relevant childcare qualification level 5 in childcare
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact positively and effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
· Knowledge of child development principles and a commitment to providing high-quality care and support to children of varying ages and abilities.
· First Aid certification and safeguarding training are desirable.
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, reliability, and flexibility.,
