We are looking for an exceptionally organised, energetic and capable individual to provide wide-ranging support to the Group Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

As a Business Manager, you will focus on maximising the effectiveness of the CMO by following up on priority actions, ensuring resource is allocated effectively and commitments are delivered. As a quick learner with a keen interest in self-development, you will have a proven track record of delivery. You will take the lead on preparing the CMO for key internal and external meetings, drafting board-level papers and supporting the Brand & Marketing (B&M) leadership team in the preparation of papers for the CMO's approval. You will also attend Senior Leadership Team meetings and play an active role in managing the priorities for the CMO, ensuring the effective running of the function in order to the deliver the business plan and marketing strategy.

About the role

  • Work with the CMO and the B&M Senior Leadership Team to manage priorities and ensure progress is tracked

  • Lead on preparing the CMO for key internal and external meetings

  • Assist the CMO in the preparation and review of board and committee papers. This requires experience in reviewing and editing professional reporting, including but not limited to review of the annual report and accounts and climate reporting

  • Be accountable for quality assurance on all board and committee papers generated by B&M and manage stakeholders in the preparation and approvals process for those papers

  • Draft CMO communications to B&M and other audiences

  • Work with the B&M leadership team to ensure maximum effectiveness and drive an engaging, customer and colleague focused culture.

    Excellent organisational skills and an ability to work well under pressure

  • Commercial acumen, including strong data and analytical skills

  • Experience in preparing board papers, position papers, reports and other documents to final draft stage, meeting the highest quality standards

  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to influence and work collaboratively with others

  • Interest in and strong understanding of corporate governance requirements

  • Good financial awareness and ability to track and monitor benefits delivery for projects under your control
