Full Job Description

As a Barclays Compliance Oversight Officer - Product, you will provide oversight, advice and guidance to Barclays UK which consists of Retail Product, Business Banking, Customer Strategy, Technology, Operations and Financial Crime. This is an opportunity to also provide specialist knowledge in products such as Mortgages, Investments, Insurance or broader experience in financial services. Further, you will engage internally with partner Compliance teams to provide insight and advice to the First Line of Defence (1LOD)., At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, 'anchor', days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). What will you be doing?

  • Performing complimentary activities across different specialisms including; Regulatory, Conduct and Reputational Risk Frameworks and Governance as part of BUK BOC

  • Developing a solid understanding of business areas to enable effective oversight and challenge where necessary

  • Supporting the day-to-day compliance and conducting oversight of the business including new products and services and reviewing customer outcomes of existing products and services

  • Ensuring issues and risk events are closed by the business in a timely manner with customer outcomes fully considered

  • Identifying themes or trends across business lines which pose a significant risk to good customer outcomes

  • Supporting the interpretation of requirements and regulatory change, as relevant, across a range of topics

  • Engaging, managing relationships, and influencing stakeholders in the First Line of defence and within the broader Compliance Team and Function

    Detailed Retail Product knowledge, such as in Mortgages/Secured Loans, Retail Protection and Savings

  • Awareness of emerging technologies and risks associated with them from a Customer outcomes perspective

  • Knowledge and experience of risk management including knowledge of risk assessment tools, Risk and Control Self-Assessment and Compliance Policies

  • Excellent communication skills are imperative, particularly the ability to communicate complex scenarios simply, clearly and briefly
