Catering Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and flexible individual to join our dedicated catering team at Grant House Care Home as a catering assistant/cook

Duties include preparation, cooking and serving of a wide range of meals, including therapeutic diets for residents in the care home ensuring the products are well presented and they follow menu choices, and dietary requirements. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring the monitoring stock levels, ordering, receipting, communicating with staff and maintaining appropriate catering records.

Experience of working within a catering environment is essential  

Knowledge of HACCP and COSHH is desirable but not essential as training can be given

This is a permanent post of 37 hours and NHS Highland provides generous annual leave entitlement. Starting with 35 days per year this is including Public holidays and will increase with length of service.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
