Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.  

The shift pattern is Monday to Thursday 8:45 am to 5pm. Friday 8:45am to 4pm.

This is a Fixed term post for 1 year at full time hours, or 2 years at part time. 

We are seeking applicants for a Band 7 CBT Therapist/Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology to join the Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service (ADRS) Renfrewshire.

You will contribute as a specialist senior clinician in the planning and delivery of a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy service for adults within Renfrewshire Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services who present with a range of common comorbid mental health problems.

In addition, you will contribute to the provision of specialist education, training, supervision and consultation to other health care professionals and students. You will work within professional guidelines and the overall framework of service policies and procedures. You will receive supervision by a team Psychologist and work closely with the wider MDT.

Successful applicants must have completed a postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which is recognised and accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy

OR

A degree in psychology (eligible for GBR) and a post-graduate Msc in Psychological Therapy in Primary Care.

We promote continued professional development and, where appropriate, would support candidates maintaining their registration in a core profession (e.g. Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Work, and Occupational Therapy) where relevant.

Significant experience of working within a multi-disciplinary setting within and adult setting within the NHS is essential. The post requires the ability to travel to bases across the Board Area.
