Chartered Senior Civil Engineer - Electrical (Inside IR35) | Ref: PSR0039747

As a Chartered Senior Civil Engineer your main responsibilities will be:
+ To work in the Roads Operations team within the Roads Directorate, responsible for providing oversight and expert advice on electrical and lighting matters.
+ The development of electrical best practice, policy and strategy to support colleagues in the delivery of annual programmes of lighting and electoral maintenance schemes.
+ To be the electrical/lighting lead to support colleagues across Transport Scotland with advice and technical input/approval for key policy matters or scheme development and delivery.
+ The development and oversight of our ITS investment / asset management strategy to embed Net Zero including through measures that support adaptation, energy conservation, use of alternative energy sources and carbon reduction.
+ To support the provision, optimisation and wider use of traffic signals in promoting efficient road network use, the prioritisation of bus and other modes of traffic as required.
+ Working with contracted maintenance agents and colleagues to ensure the effective management of assets and risks.
+ To lead on Roads Directorate energy management, including financial oversight/Invoicing/forecasting, working with energy suppliers and implementing measures to drive down energy usage.

You'll have relevant experience in:
+ Lighting solutions : internal and external lighting for public and amenity
+ Traffic signals, their use, installation and optimisation
+ Electrical, electronics and telecommunications solutions and services
+ Telemetry solutions and services, e.g., intelligent transport solutions, traffic signals.
