Full Job Description

Position: Estimator

Location: Glasgow, Scotland

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Our client, a specialised engineering contractor with a strong track record in delivering projects in the water and renewable energy sectors, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team in Glasgow, Scotland. This role offers ample opportunities within a dynamic business environment, with exciting and challenging projects, and a commitment to employee development.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare MEICA estimates.
  • Register, control, and administer tender documentation effectively.
  • Develop and maintain project risk register.
  • Develop detailed and achievable project packages in collaboration with clients.
  • Perform take-offs from drawings and produce cost-effective tenders from first principles.
  • Analyse and price project risks effectively.
  • Prepare tender submission documents and estimating reports.
  • Provide assistance for proposals and contract management functions.
  • Maintain regular communication with the management team and site teams.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Strong and demonstrable estimating experience of at least 3-5 years within civil engineering projects.
  • Experience in estimating for civils and water projects.
  • Desirable: Scottish Water Framework experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Desirable: Experience using Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 planning software.
