Full Job Description

A vacancy has arisen for a Registered Nurse (part one of professional register) to work within the District Nursing teams based within Clackmannanshire and Stirling H&SCP. This post also includes treatment room work responsibilities. This is a community nursing post which will include flexibility in shift patterns including weekends.

To apply for this post it is desirable that you have relevant experience of nursing in a community setting. It is desirable that you have a range of clinical skills which include wound management, catheter care, venepuncture, Hickman/PICC lines Long term conditions and palliative care including end of life care. An understanding of Anticipatory Care Planning is desirable. You should have the ability to deal with difficult situations, and have challenging conversations due to the nature of the job.

The aim of the post is to focus on prevention, anticipation and supported self management to enable everyone to live longer, healthier lives at home or in a homely setting. NHS Forth Valley is supportive of lifelong learning. Training will also be provided during induction to the successful applicants. It is essential that you are a good communicator and show that you work well within a team and also are able to function autonomously using your skills and initiative due to lone working in patients homesA knowledge of staff and services across acute care and health and social care partnerships which support patient care is desirable. 

Competent IT skills are essential.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
