Post:   consultant in paediatric orthopaedic surgery

base:  royal hospital for children glasgow

We are looking for an experienced colleague with an interest in neurodisability to join our large, busy Paediatric Orthopaedic Department. The post is based at The Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. Duties will include routine Consultant-delivered elective and emergency care for young people aged between 0 and 16 years of age. Applicants should have a wide experience of Paediatric Orthopaedics with a minimum of one year of Fellowship training in the speciality. The on-call commitment is 1 in 8, including weekends, and applicants should be familiar with management of complex trauma cases in children and adolescents. Experience in gait lab reporting and transition care would be advantageous.

Applicants should have proven experience and interest in neuromuscular orthopaedics and trauma.

Applicants should have full GMC registration, a licence to practice and eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR,) or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of Interview. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
