Full Job Description

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin., A new Contracts Manager role has been created within SSE's Procurement and Commercial function. We are seeking an experienced professional to work within our Corporate category team and lead / coordinate the management of our key 'managed service provider (MSP) for MRO Consumables and the associated supply chains.

The role will work across a number of different business areas and you will be expected to have a broad knowledge of MRO or MSP solutions and have experience of managing group-wide supply agreements. We will be looking for you to hit the ground running and be able to implement and manage our strategic MRO solution and associated supplier contracts that support the wider Group requirements.

As Contracts Manager, you will be:

  • Required to actively manage specific suppliers and contracts in order to drive service delivery, manage risk/ compliance and deliver ongoing financial and non-financial benefits through continuous improvement, cost reduction and supplier innovation

  • Responsible for delivering an effective supplier relationship management structure between the MRO solution and key business stakeholders

  • Ensure that the actual service delivery standards are in accordance with the agreed Contract/Services Schedule and that all parties are working to reduce risk and improve sustainability in terms of improving the quality and reliability of the supply chain

  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting on key metrics/ KPIs and providing updates on performance, as well as providing additional insight and commentary as required

  • The key contact for managing first line enquiries/ escalations from the MRO solution provider and business stakeholders and will act as an escalation point for service issues and dispute resolution.

    Experience in developing close working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders so as to ensure delivery standards, ensure compliance, reduce risk, improve efficiency & sustainability and the quality/ reliability of the overall supply chain.

  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with an ability to influence and secure commitment from all stakeholders, plus the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, be flexible and quickly adapt to changing priorities.

  • A sound understanding and direct experience of either delivering an MRO programme to an end client or working client side to manage an MSP and/ or end-to-end MRO supply model or a track record of managing strategic/ high value, complex contracts with multiple stakeholders across different sectors

  • A strong commercial awareness in line with cost/ budget management and a clear appreciation of contractual and legislative risk.

  • To have excellent communications (written and oral) skills, be highly numerate with experience of managing and interpreting numerical data. You will be expected to have appropriate IT skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point and ERP/ Contract Management systems.

    Salary: £47,600- £71,600 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
