Full Job Description

Aberdeen City Council, and the Printfield community, supported by the Denis Law Trust have £46,000 in funding, to commission an artist(s)/creative practitioner(s) to create a trail.

We are seeking to commission a public trail over 10 locations in Printfield, where members of the public will be able to celebrate, learn and be inspired about the area's most famous son, Denis Law, the legendary Scottish Footballer. These locations could be linked with an online digital presence, or a physical map, they could be creative or artistic interventions in 2D or 3D artworks or sculptural forms, with a design that links to a code with information. It is also important that the creative practitioner engages with Printfield residents to consider their views and opinions to celebrate their community and Denis Laws inspirational story throughout the project.

Applicants can work collaboratively with other arts organisations or local businesses to deliver their proposal. Applicants must have the capacity to provide a full project design, followed by delivery on site in accordance with the timeline set out in the brief, and have a track record of producing work which impacts on the social and cultural life of a particular region or place.

The term creative practitioner(s) is to cover the range of people or groups that this commission is open to and refers to; artist(s)/creative practitioner(s), craftsperson(s), designer(s), organisation or collective.

This commission is a 2 stage selection process and the initial deadline for submissions is Monday 15th April 2024 at noon. Whereafter 2 artists will be selected and funded £1,000 to go forward to the second stage.
