Full Job Description

Job Purpose: To deliver a professional and efficient frontline service resolving a variety of customer requests using our Pay-Report-Request methods, providing resolution at first point of contact whenever possible or escalating appropriately leaving customers with a good impression of the Highland Council. To assist and support in the day-to-day operation of the Service Point.
To ensure the Registration Service for Births, Still-births, Deaths, Marriages and Civil
Partnerships is delivered in accordance with the statutory directives from the Registrar
General for Scotland. To provide a professional, efficient and empathetic service whilst
working closely with other Council Services and external partners/agencies.

You will receive regular training to gain and maintain knowledge in a wide variety of services including but not limited to Housing, Licensing, Environmental Issues, Council Tax, Planning and Waste Services, Blue Badge Application, Travel Card Applications, assisting with the completion of application forms and validate associated supporting evidence.

You will have good IT skills and be able to operate a number of electronic systems including customer relationship management, payment collection, registration of births, deaths and marriages and other in-house business related systems. You will need to understand and adhere to the Highland Council policies, procedures and operational targets.

Relevant experience of delivering a customer focused frontline service to the public either face to face or by telephone.

Be familiar with Office 365 programs including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams.
