Vacancy Information

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week). Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay: £16.37 - £17.78

Days and Hours of Work:
Monday & Tuesday, 09:00-17:00
Flexi time is applicable.
To start 1st July 2024.

The Haddington Area Office team covers the reception at John Muir House supporting public and colleagues coming into the building for meetings or to access Council services as well as accepting payments and supporting Contact Centre calls.

The Customer Services Officer is responsible for ensuring all necessary policies and procedures are followed including for banking, audit and GDPR, works with Team Leads across Customer Services and Libraries to maintain adequate staff levels and line manages the team in John Muir House.

The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of customer services and best practice, experience of working in a customer service environment and have experience of supervising staff.

To supervise an Area Team of staff responsible for the delivery of front line customer and/or library services.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to HNC or SVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline e.g. Information Studies, Business Admin., Business Management or in a Care related qualification and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
