Demand Planner

We are searching for a Demand Planner to become part of our success story. Reporting to the Demand, Planning & Forecasting Manager, the main purpose of this role is to work with the various teams within our Dundee Distribution Centre, to deliver maximum availability inbound and ensure maximum supply outbound to our Company Owned Stores and Independent estate.
The successful candidate will maintain the highest levels of availability for our Retailers and Company Owned Stores, managing stock levels in our depot and stores to optimum levels, whilst also maximising efficiency across the Supply Chain.
You will work to enhance the relationships and collaborative ways of working with our suppliers and liaise with their supply chain teams to add value to both parties. This includes working with SPAR Central Office functions to better manage the availability of SPAR Own Brand products.
Key responsibilities will be:
Order Proposals

• Review Daily Exceptions around forecast.


• Review order proposals and order proposal exceptions.


• Review errors and exceptions on products and orders.


• Review all late deliveries.


• Review and take remedial actions for any delivery shortages.

Promotional Information

• Understand the promotional schedule and the impact on forecasts. Amend forecasts as required.


• Plan and review promotional materials prior to checking order proposals.


• Ensure the system is buying adequate stock to cover pre-sells and allocations.

Systems

• Create and maintain reports on Relex, Excel and Accord.


• Review and update all relevant systems.

Sales trends

• Identify the impact of weather and seasonal events, particularly in seasonal stores.


• Understand the impact of new products and range reviews on the forecast.


• Report any issues that have impacted on availability.


• Analyse supplier performance with regards to product availability.
  
  Experience in stock control within an FMCG background is essential along with previous retail experience.


• Previous experience of using modern demand planning and forecasting systems is highly desirable.


• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.


• Excellent analytical skills

Desirable Criteria

• Highers level qualifications or similar in a relevant subject.


• Good Microsoft office skills, also conversant in Relex, Excel and Powerbi.


• Experience of change management and/or new systems implementation.

You should be available to work from our Dundee office with some degree of flexibility.
