Life here at prosource.it is as busy and exciting as ever- and as a result, we are looking to build our team of Desktop Support Engineers in Aberdeen. Our Desktop Support Engineers work across a broad range of technologies and liaise with multiple areas of the business to support incidents, problems and requests. They're responsible for answering IT requests via the phone, email, live chat or instant message and explaining solutions in technical and non-technical terms, so we need people who are comfortable interacting with users and who excel at customer service and communication.,

  • Build and install PCs, and peripheral devices (such as printers, mobiles) related to end user computing

  • Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of PCs

  • Ensure that work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with client guidelines

  • Work with call logging tools to track and maintain call status

  • Undertake IT moves and equipment setup

  • Explain and document technical issues in a clear way to users

  • Maintain antivirus and patch levels on PCs

  • Install and configure software

  • Support Operating System and hardware refresh programmes

    An aptitude and technical skillset within Microsoft environments

  • Good understanding of end user support and troubleshooting, preferably within an enterprise environment

  • Hands on experience of;

  • + Building, configuring, upgrading and imaging PCs
    + Supporting remote users
    + Current Microsoft Windows operating systems
    + Installing and configuring software
    + Call logging tools and tracking and maintaining call status
    + Troubleshooting and maintenance of desktops, laptops and printers
    + IT equipment moves and setup
  • Good knowledge of relevant IT industry standards and trends

  • Solid understanding of core concepts and services such as DNS and DHCP in an enterprise environment

  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills

  • Proactive, positive and can-do attitude

  • ITIL® Foundation and/or have experience of working within an environment which has adopted ITIL® methodology, in particular incident and problem management

  • Relevant technical certification such as CompTIA or Microsoft would be advantageous

  • Offshore Certification or a willingness to undertake offshore certification would be highly advantageous
