    We are looking to hire ambitious, and value-adding talent to join Modulr, the fastest growing payments business in the UK and Europe, and are looking to hire ambitious, and value-adding talent., To execute on our mission you and the team will drive innovation and the future growth of the platform that powers Scotland's Fintech of the Year. To give you a picture of the sort of work that you are likely to encounter some of the projects on our roadmap include:
    1. Redesigning our CI/CD
    2. Migrating to new deployment paradigms such as serverless architectures (e.g. AWS Lambda) or containerisation technologies (e.g. Kubernetes)
    3. Automation of change management and audit trails
    4. Cost Control
    5. Development Tooling
    6. Implementing a service mesh

    As a part of the Platform Team your voice and knowledge will be crucial in the direction of the platform, you and the team are makers of your own destiny. In order to achieve many of these projects we lean on our varied expertise as well as existing practices and paradigms, which are heavily influenced by Site Reliability Engineering. It is important to note that as part of this role you will be expected to be on call for the platform and actively contribute to improving how we manage incidents. On call is renumerated separately with a flat rate as well as an additional bonus if you are called out whilst you are on call.

    We also function as ambassadors to the engineering squads to encourage best practice for areas we are experts in as well as to gather requirements from the engineering teams as to what they need us to build in the future. This mechanism is the conduit by which many of our ideas and improvements percolate, both in the engineering teams and in the platform.,
  • Work closely with the Chief Product Officer to define Modulr's product vision, strategy and roadmap, taking ownership of the delivery and ongoing success of the payment's roadmap.

  • Set OKRs for your products and lead your team to execute against those OKRs.

  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and development for your team to execute high-quality deliverables including but not limited to:

    • + Technical designs and specifications, that address business requirements
    + Epic and user story definition including clear acceptance criteria.
    + Ensuring scalable ways of working with our engineering function to prioritise requirements and deliver at pace each sprint.
    + Ensuring end-to-end delivery of products, ensuring all implications on teams across the business are understood and managed ahead of go-live.
    + Ensuring internal documentation and functional product collateral is created and maintained.

  • Accountable for the delivery of our payments roadmap:

  • Actively develop and manage relationships with payments schemes and key suppliers, both at the operational and strategic level.

  • Embed a data-driven mindset across your team to ensure our prioritisation decisions solve our customers' problems.

  • Develop metrics for your products and assessing the ongoing, overall performance of all products against these metrics.

  • Accountable for understanding the costs of our products and working with our market-facing product management team to input into pricing strategies.

  • Responsible for regularly communicating updates on progress, ensuring any issues are pro-actively managed.

  • Be an active member of the Product leadership team, embodying the Modulr values and promoting the Product team and its activities both across the business and externally.

  • Building, observing and scaling a highly available, 24x7 platform

  • Experience working with AWS

  • Experience with communicating with external teams and building strong relationships outside of your immediate team

  • Experience working with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform

  • Experience working with Kubernetes, preferably using AWS EKS

  • Experience automating / maintaining CI/CD pipelines in a Linux, Apache, Java, PostgresSQL stack

  • Experience working with Microservices architecture

  • Experience of being an incident responder
