Electrical Design Engineer - Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Belcan are looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer SME, who will be able to apply their electrical engineering knowledge and design expertise on new naval vessel projects. The SME will produce electrical design solutions for various systems, producing supporting technical documents for designs, 3D models and 2D outputs to support operations and other functions.

The role has a strong focus on engineering delivery and quality, and you will be able to balance the technical responsibilities inherent within the role and working with the end client.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficient in the use of the appropriate tools and techniques that will be used (including., 2D/3D CAD and electrical packages).
• Understanding of cable or Harness segregation, noise requirements and electrical testing.
• Demonstrable understanding of electrical equipment and ability to interact with supplier documentation (e.g., data sheets, control schedules, factory test records)

• Appreciates and can articulate the value of the engineering lifecycle (concept design, detail design, build) and the relationship to the Lifecycle Management Process.
• Knowledge of some of the following:

• marine power systems
• propulsion systems,
• automation, navigation, or communication equipment.

• Able to communicate at all levels both written and verbal.

For this role you must be eligible to obtain UK security clearance.
