Electrical Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a time served Electrical Maintenance Technician to provide specialist and technical expertise ensuring optimal availability, efficiency and performance from all engineering assets in delivery of the site engineering strategy.

This will involve carrying out allocated work in relation to fixed and mobile plant assets incorporating the safe maintenance, service, inspection and repair of all listed equipment within the boundaries of recognised best practice and all applicable legislation.

As a vital member of the team, you will be involved in a variety of exciting projects, which include:

1. Completing planned and predictive maintenance in line with the CMMS system.

2. Ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety & environmental legislation and safe systems of work

3. Fault finding and using Six Sigma techniques to resolve plant issues

4. Driving and supporting team based improvement projects and driving a culture of continuous improvement

5. Ensuring timely & effective response to unplanned breakdowns, undertaking root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.

The role is primary a day's role, however the selected candidate will be expected to be flexible in terms of support to site out of hours and at weekends if emergency breakdowns do occur.

1. Time served/HNC/HND apprenticeship in an electrical discipline essential

2. A track record with hydraulics and pneumatics preferred

3. Knowledge of a similar industry would be highly advantageous

4. Forklift certification preferred

5. IPAF training preferred

6. PASMA training preferred

7. The ability to be flexible in line with plant demands,

  Land Energy has been at the forefront of biomass energy in the UK for nearly 20 years. In the last 3 years our operations have expanded rapidly as we move into serving domestic as well as commercial customers with a mix of new products and services. Operations now extend across 5 sites in the UK and encompass nearly 100 employees, with sales to all parts of the UK and Ireland.


Safety is core to what we do. Our Girvan production site now stretches across 15 acres and every year we process 300,000 tonnes of feedstock which requires 25,000 heavy vehicle movements for in and outbound deliveries. We also make around 10,000 customer deliveries per annum to all destinations in the UK, from a combination of our own trucking fleet and using third party hauliers.

We need to ensure that this is all done safely and without incident, day-in, day-out.
