Full Job Description

  • Work as part of a team to fault find and repair breakdowns on Machines and plant equipment, i.e., drills, blaster, saws, conveyors, welding units and overhead cranes etc.

  • Carry out preventative maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating and adjusting equipment to ensure optimal functionality and in line with the maintenance plan and update files accordingly.

  • Adhere to safety regulations, codes, and standards to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Conduct safety checks, risk assessments, and implement safety measures to minimize the potential for hazards.

  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, including inspection reports, repair logs and equipment performance data.

  • Keep up to date with the latest regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure compliance in all maintenance activities.

  • Ensure safe systems of work are adhered to during all maintenance works, including COSHH assessments.

  • Collaborate with the team to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve complex issues.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates, discuss maintenance plans, and address any concerns.

  • Identify opportunities for improving performance, energy efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

  • Report any issues to your line manager.

  • Lead by example and always promote safe working by working to procedures following safe systems of work and wearing correct PPE / RPE as required.

  • Fabricate and fit parts as required for repairs or maintenance to plant equipment.

  • Make and assemble fabricated parts into a complete unit, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.

    Applicants must have completed a recognized trade apprenticeship or have a relevant Engineering qualification and experience.


  • Experience with Hydraulics, Pneumatics, welding turning, electrical, overhead Cranes and IPAF would be beneficial.

    The successful candidate will be a good communicator, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. You should be conscientious hard working, flexible and safety aware., You will be able to demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, possess good inter-personal skills and have the ability to work to tight deadlines.
