Full Job Description

Lead Design, R&D, Project Management & Applications Engineering functions.Contribute to the leadership of the business and plant as a member of the Senior Management Team.Drive and oversee product development according to strategy.Continually improve reliability and drive down quality costs through field observation, structured testing & problem solving.Work with internal & external stakeholders to gather market intelligence. Set product development strategy/roadmap and contribute to wider business strategy.Oversee Technical Enquiry system for checking new customer applications.Maintain excellent relationships with key customers including regular technical reviews. Participate in customer visits worldwide and marketing events such as trade fairs.Develop class-leading products using state-of-the-art engineering practices.Maintain agile and efficient processes meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

The Engineering Director will maintain technical leadership and drive profitable growth of business by setting an optimized product development strategy, inspiring innovation, and continuous improvement to deliver safe and compliant hydraulic motors that delight customers with class-leading in functionality, performance, quality and cost. In addition, you will bring the following:Education: Masteru2019s degree in engineering and/or business (Chartered preferential).Experience in a medium/high volume manufacturing environment, ideally involving precision machining of steel and cast iron.Customer-facing experience.Experience of leading teams.Have experience working in hydraulic or automotive component industries.Working knowledge of metallurgy & heat treatment.High-level problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Strategic thinker.Involvement in business strategy and direction.

You will be reporting to the Vice President and would be required to work 40 hours per week.
