Full Job Description

NHS Scotland has reduced their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.

This permanent post will work across the Argyll and Bute HSCP Area working to an agreed  portfolio of work.

This portfolio will be focussed on HSCP priorities and targets on areas related to health inequalities, community wealth building and engagement and communications but will be required to deliver programmes of work as needed.

There will be opportunities for partnership working with other partners across Argyll & Bute.

Experience of leadership and management and the ability to demonstrate knowledge, skills and experience of health improvement essential.

The successful candidate will be required to lead on variety of health improvement programmes, manage staff and use initiative and good judgement in decision making.   UK Public Health Registration or working towards this is desirable.
